Here?s a recap of Fall news plus a sneak peek of what?s to come with complimentary coverage:
Elle magazine knew where to head for Shopping A to Z, an October series that included interactive events by creative director Joe Zee, a style pod with daily programming, and lots of shopping. Highlights were Passport to Style, a one-day only promotional hunt for the season?s must-haves cherry-picked by Zee, and the Personal Style Awards, a charity fashion show presented by Kate Davidson Hudson, Elle?s executive accessories editor, to honor 10 of South Florida?s most stylish philanthropists.
Carolina Herrera doesn?t just pop in to Bal Harbour Shops?she likes to linger. This fall the designer threw a cocktail party for the grand opening of her fourth boutique in the U.S. Full collections for day and evening wear, and accessory collaborations with the likes of Judith Leiber and Manolo Blahnik are presented in a chic setting of macassar wood and silk in the house?s signature brown and white stripes.
Elie Tahari?s Bal Harbour store was one of the stops on wife/vice chairman/creative director Rory Tahari?s book tour. She posed for photos while signing copies of ?Lists for Life: The Essential Guide to Getting Organized and Tackling Tough To Dos,? a compilation regarding topics like parenting, home and travel, among others.
Our annual fashion show benefiting Project: New Born in November, always delivers key looks from several of the fashion houses and department stores that make Bal Harbour Shops a top destination, but this year holds two additional bonuses: the debut of Lanvin, which opens its only U.S. store in December, and Fendi?s foray into a group presentation.
Tory Burch already got into the spirit with a kick-off party for the charity that brought out the next generation of philanthropists plus the style set, since it was in conjunction with Fashion?s Night Out in September. Attendees also made their way down to Neiman Marcus, which hosted Angel Sanchez?s fashion show with men?s and women?s wear.
Trina Turk transfers her Palm Springs aesthetic to Bal Harbour with her first Florida store. The bright, mid-century modern space with punches of color is filled with her classic prints, trendy silhouettes and loads of new items like swimwear and vintage-inspired jewelry.
For its second U.S. store, Roger Vivier brings its iconic buckle plus other head-turning shoe and handbag styles by creative director Bruno Frisoni.????
Another Florida debut, Santa Maria Novella?s Bal Harbour boutique is stocked with Old World, luxury soaps, eau de colognes, powders and more.
